In Praise of Zen Art Show at The Tatami Museum in Fukui
In Praise of Zen: 17 Views by Seventeen Artists in Tatami Museum of Art
We are very honored that Kai was invited to participate in The Praise of Zen art show in Fukui prefecture. He shared his perspective of growing up in a Zen temple through images that reminded him of his childhood, "a comforting familiarity only found in specificity and an enduring beauty found in simplicity." Printed on traditional Japanese paper, three of his photographs are in the show ! It has been so nice having him home and him being able to reconnect with his Japanese culture. He returns to America in January to finish up college.
Congratulations to the all of the incredible artists in the show. Special gratitude goes to the brilliant photographer Everett Kennedy Brown who builds meaningful connections through art. Inspired by Everett, Kai wanted to support local artists which is why he is will be hosting an upcoming exhibition here in Oga at Dairyuji as well.
Praise of Zen is running until November 11th at The Tatami Museum of Art in Fukui, near Eiheji monastery where Keno trained to become a priest. The exhibition is enhanced by its beautiful tatami design and unique form of display.
